Project: Building an Orphanage
This project is almost half way complete! Still to go is another building to house the boys, and sanitation facilities.
Thanks to the generosity of the Boyer family and other supporters the first of two boarding houses is complete and ready for painting. This building has one room for girls and, until the second building can be constructed, one room for boys. There is also a room for two caretakers to sleep. This facility provides boarding for 13 orphans and for students from across the lake where there is currently no access to a quality education.
Setting: Bishop Forson School Complex
Goals of the Project:
- Build an orphanage/boarding facility to house 60 children. This includes bathroom, clean running water, electricity and suitable sleeping accommodations.
- Self-funding for running the facility will be part of Pagus:Africa’s ongoing mandate and part of the overall business plan for the school.
Project Specifics :
- For approximately $30,000 we could complete this project
- Clean water to be piped to the school. Rainwater would be harvested.
